La Maddalena is part of the geographical sub region of Gallura, which include the north- eastern area of Sardinia. It is mostly famous because of Costa Smeralda, but not everybody knows that offers the most beautiful landscapes, with granitic mountains and lush vegetation, the rugged coastlines and the turquoise waters of the sea.
It boast also a millenary ancient history, with archeological sites from the Neolitic (tombe dei giganti) to the Nuragic ( nuraghe) until Modern days. There you can admire the peculiar villages of Alta Gallura, where granite is everywhere, in architecture an aesthetics.
